What Is Nutritional Counseling?
Nutritional counseling is an area of medicine that concentrates on giving patients the proper counseling on understanding foods and how they prevent illness and disease. Within this area, patients may also receive counseling in losing weight and establishing a healthy lifestyle.
How Is Nutritional Counseling Used in Functional Medicine?
Nutritional counseling is the cornerstone of functional medicine because poor diet is often seen as a contributing factor to chronic disease. One of the most integral parts of the treatment plans for patients utilizing functional medicine is establishing a proper diet that eliminates any food that is determined to cause the disease and includes foods and nutritional supplements to help the body heal and return to optimal health.
Who May Benefit from Nutritional Counseling?
Nutritional counseling is for anyone who wants to improve their diet, wants to begin a treatment plan to heal from a poor diet, has been diagnosed with a chronic condition such as diabetes or gastrointestinal disorders, or has a desire to be healthy by establishing a healthy lifestyle.
What Is the Cost of Nutritional Counseling at the Falcone Center?
At the Falcone Center, the cost for treating patients in Philadelphia, PA, Maple Shade, NJ, and the surrounding area is based on the appointment. Deposit is due when scheduling initial appointment.
It is important to note that the Falcone Center does not accept insurance as it is considered an “out-of-network provider” by most major insurance plans. While we cannot file insurance claims on our patients’ behalf, we can easily provide them with receipts and the necessary paperwork to file for reimbursement. We suggest that our patients determine whether their plans cover functional medicine prior to making an appointment.
