HOW MUCH WEIGHT CAN I LOSE WITH SEMAGLUTIDE INJECTION?
With a once a week office visit for injection and weight evaluation, you can potentially change your weight 1-3 pounds a week with Semaglutide. Individual results will vary based on individual habits, but the average person can lose 1-3 pounds a week. Studies show that 90% percent of Semaglutide patients will lose at least 5% of their total body fat. While Semaglutide is in use, and your appetite suppressed, it is a good time to learn better dietary habits, revise the home menu and increase your physical activity. Originally formulated for patients with diabetes, GLP-1 receptor agonist medications were FDA approved in 2022 for weight loss. Combining Semaglutide with 150 minutes of exercise a week can yield even better results. Thirty minutes of walking 5 days a week can have tremendous health benefits. Semaglutide, proper nutrition and consistent activity are a winning combination for most Philadelphia Weight Loss patients.

SEMAGLUTIDE vs OZEMPIC vs MOUNJARO ( Trizepatide) vs WEGOVY WHICH ONE DO I CHOOSE?
Ozempic and Wegovy are both Semaglutide…the same medication with slightly different dosing and indications. Ozempic was FDA approved for diabetes in 2017. Wegovy was FDA approved in 2021 for weight loss in patients with obesity (BMI >30) or patients with BMI >27 with other medical problems. Semaglutide suppresses the appetite by acting like the GLP-1 hormone. Glucagon-like-peptide-1 (GLP-1) targets areas of the brain that regulate appetite.

Mounjaro is also a GLP-1 receptor agonist but it has the additional effect of also activating the GIP receptor. This helps to control blood sugar, appetite and slow down the movement of food through your stomach leaving your feel full longer.

Semaglutide, Ozempic, Mounjaro and Wegovy all have the potential side effect of causing feelings of nausea. Treatment starts with a lower dose. In time, the dose can be increased depending on side effects.
