From years of providing underarm sweating and odor treatment, Dr. Falcone has narrowed the treatment options to two that work the best: Miradry or Toxin (Botox, Dysport, Daxxify). After treating with Miradry, Toxin, ThermiDry, topical solutions and Precision Tx, Dr. Falcone has determined that Miradry is the best long-term solution for underarm sweating and odor. Botox treatment can work but the results last 4-6 months. For the cost of approximately one Botox treatment, patients can have Miradry treatment enjoying long lasting sweat and odor reduction.

How Does miraDry Work?
miraDry uses controlled thermal energy delivered through a handheld device to target and permanently disable sweat and odor glands. At the Falcone Center, our clinicians use refined techniques developed over a decade of experience to ensure precise treatment, optimal results, and a comfortable experience. The skin is thoroughly numbed beforehand, allowing for a pain-free procedure.
Is miraDry Safe?
Yes. Only about 2% of the body’s sweat glands are located in the underarms, so eliminating them does not affect the body’s ability to regulate temperature. With over 10 years of miraDry experience, our team has seen excellent safety outcomes across a wide range of patients.
What Should I Expect During Treatment?
During your appointment, a member of our clinical team will clean and mark the treatment area using a starch-iodine test. A local numbing agent is administered to ensure comfort. The treatment itself takes about one hour. You may feel slight pressure or warmth, but no pain.
Afterward, we provide ice packs to help minimize swelling. Patients frequently comment on how comfortable the process feels due to our advanced numbing and treatment techniques.
How Many Treatments Are Needed?
Many of our patients achieve outstanding results with just one miraDry session. With over 10 years of experience, we have developed an optimized treatment approach that maximizes sweat, odor, and hair reduction in a single visit. We treat at the highest energy settings and use the largest template appropriate for your anatomy.
For patients with moderate to severe sweating or odor, a second treatment may provide additional benefit. A follow-up session can be scheduled any time after the 3-month mark, and we offer a $300 discount on second treatments.

What Is the Downtime and Recovery Like?
Mild swelling, tenderness, or puffiness may occur for a few days. Ice packs help reduce swelling, and most patients return to work and normal activities quickly.
Avoid exercise or activities that raise body temperature for at least 72 hours. You may shower the next day, but avoid pools, hot tubs, or the ocean for 72 hours.
Does miraDry Help With Odor or Hair?
Yes. miraDry reduces sweat glands, odor-producing glands, and hair follicles, all of which sit at the same depth in the skin. Our patients often experience significant improvement in all three areas.
Who Is a Good Candidate for miraDry?
Adults over 18 who experience excessive sweating, unwanted odor, or bothersome sweat stains are excellent candidates for miraDry. Over the past decade, we’ve successfully treated patients with mild to severe concerns. Patients under 18 require parental consent and approval from Dr. Falcone.
How Should I Prepare for miraDry?
Shave the underarms 4–6 days before treatment. Avoid deodorant and antiperspirant on the day of your appointment. Wear a loose-fitting top and expect a few days of swelling afterward.
How Long Do miraDry Results Last?
miraDry results are permanent. Once sweat and odor glands are eliminated, they do not regenerate.
